Practical healthcare support for real workplace problems.
Examples of how BGM Medical can support employers with seasonal vaccination programmes, travel medicals, documentation and responsive clinical advice.
Annual flu vaccination programme
A multi site employer wanted to offer a flu vaccination programme without asking staff to organise appointments themselves, and without disrupting daily work.
We organise the campaign
We agree dates, map the sites, plan appointment flow and provide clear staff communication so the clinic feels organised rather than improvised.
We maximise uptake sensibly
We attend the relevant sites and make vaccination easy to access, while keeping disruption to the working day as low as possible.
We plan for emergencies
We provide appropriate emergency contingencies, including clinical screening, observation where needed and escalation planning.
Vaccination conversations handled properly
Vaccination can stir up strong views. We do not force staff in one direction or the other. Our role is to educate, debate and discuss honestly, answer questions, explain benefits and limitations, and respect informed choice.
What the evidence says
- A double blind randomised workplace trial in healthy working adults found that, in a season where vaccine and circulating strains were well matched, vaccination reduced influenza like illness by 34%, physician visits by 42% and lost workdays by 32%. In a mismatched season, those reductions were not seen.
- A 2021 systematic review of workplace influenza interventions found that most economic evaluations reported workplace influenza vaccination programmes as cost saving or cost effective, although results vary by season, uptake, vaccine match and study design.
- Evidence specific to ordinary office settings is more limited than healthcare settings, so we present workplace flu clinics as a sensible prevention measure, not a guarantee of lower sickness absence.

Travel medicals and urgent documentation
A company had staff travelling internationally for work. Employees were paying their own GP practices for certificates, and delays had already caused missed deadlines on more than one occasion.
Travel health review
We assess the destination, timing, role, medical history and vaccine requirements before travel.
Paperwork done quickly
We aim for related paperwork within 48 hours, and ideally same day where the clinical information is available.
Support while away
Where appropriate, we can offer remote medical advice for staff travelling abroad for work.
The result
The employer gained one clear route for travel related medical paperwork instead of leaving every employee to negotiate individually with their GP practice. It reduced uncertainty, protected deadlines and made it easier to identify when travel health advice or vaccinations were also needed.
Some certificates require examination, records, destination specific information or additional clinical checks. We will always be clear about what can be done remotely, what needs an appointment, and what cannot safely be signed.
